Meet Jill Hagen

About the Artist:

Jill Hagen was raised on a Native American reservation in upstate NY. She has lived in 5 states and has moved 23 times. Her interest in creating has led her to the world of blacksmithing, welding, pottery, sewing, photography, watercolor painting, bronze sculpture, cooking, glass fusing, a two-year master's degree, whittling, and most recently, writing. Jill is now a published author. Anthological work 2023, Whispers Amongst the Trees.

The community mural created the opportunity to work with a group of people of all ages and artistic abilities. It was a challenge to include as much history, local activities, and involvement as possible.

On most days it was common to find elders, youth, babies, novices as well as accomplished artists painting the 41-foot-long parade scene. Truly a community mural.
